Man Hospitalized After Stabbing at Riverhead Bar

A man was hospitalized after he was stabbed at a Riverhead bar early Saturday morning, according to Riverhead Town Police.

Police responded to a report of a disturbance at the Royal Dorado Bar on 1005 East Main Street at about 2 a.m.

Police found that a stabbing had occurred but the victim had left the area, according to police.

The victim, identified as Audiel Velazquez, was later found at his home, police said.

Velazquez reported to police that he had been stabbed in the abdomen by an unknown man, according to police.

He was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he underwent surgery for internal injuries, police said.
