Man Injured In Long Island Expressway Crash

He veered off the road and struck a tree Wednesday, police say.

MANORVILLE, NY — A 20-year-old man was hurt in a crash when his car veered off the Long Island Expressway in Manorville Wednesday, police said.

According to Suffolk County Police, the crash took place at 4:50 p.m. when the man, who was driving a 2005 Chevrolet and heading east on the LIE, went off the road and struck a tree about a mile east of Exit 70.

The man was transported via Suffolk County Police aviation to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
