Man Punched In Face, Robbed In Riverhead: Police

The search is ongoing for the suspects, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A man was punched in the face and robbed in Riverhead Friday night, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, the incident took place at 11:55 p.m.; police said the victim was approached by two men while walking on Pond View Road.

The victim said he was punched in the face and knocked to the ground; the men removed money from his pocket, police said.

The two men then fled the scene, heading south on Pond View Road, police said.

A perimeter was established and Riverhead K9-1 responded to the scene; a search of the area was conducted by Riverhead K9-1, with no results, police said.

The Riverhead Police Department's detective division was notified and responded to the scene.
