Man Robbed Of Cash, Phone, Credit Cards In Riverhead: Police

The man sustained non-life-threatening injuries when he was robbed by two men he asked for a ride, police said.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A man was injured after he was robbed by a duo in Riverhead, police said.

According to Riverhead Police, the robbery took place Sunday at 2:12 a.m. on Ostrander Avenue, north of Corwin Street.

Responding police said the man, 26, reported that he'd been robbed by two unknown black men, driving a Caprice or a Crown Victoria, whom he had asked for a ride, police said.

The victim said they stole $25, a cell phone, a debit card and two credit cards, police said.

They fled the area and headed northbound on Ostrander Avenue, police said.

The victim was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center by the Riverhead Town Volunteer Ambulance Corps for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and was released, police said.
