Man Shot And Killed In Aquebogue: Cops

Riverhead police went to a Pine Avenue home and found a man 69-year-old man dead of a gunshot wound.

AQUEBOGUE, NY — A man was shot and killed in Aquebogue Sunday, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, Riverhead police responded to a home on Pine Avenue at 10:24 p.m. to check on the welfare of the owner of the house, Lee Pedersen, who was found dead. An autopsy by the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner determined that Pedersen, 69, died of a gunshot wound, police said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call the Suffolk County police homicide squad at 631-852-6392 or to make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
