Man Stabbed In Front Of Riverhead Park

The man was assaulted by a stranger who then fled the area, police say

RIVERHEAD, NY — A man was stabbed in front of a Riverhead park Friday night, police said.

According to Riverhead Police, authorities received a call from Peconic Bay Medical Center about an assault that took place in front of Unity Park, located on Oakland Drive West. A man reported being stabbed in his left arm by a stranger who then fled the area, police said.

The Riverhead Police Department's detective division was notified and responded to Peconic Bay Medical Center to assist; the man was treated for a puncture wound to his upper left arm and released, police said.

The man was unable to provide a description of the person who stabbed him, police said.
