Man Stabbed At Riverhead Sober House: Police
BREAKING: The victim was found bleeding from an abdominal stab wound, police said.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A man was stabbed at a Riverhead sober house Sunday, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, a 911 call came in at 9:29 p.m. Sunday regarding an assault at an E. 2nd Street residence.
Upon arrival, police found the victim, 45, outside of the residence bleeding from an abdominal stab wound, police said.

Officers located the victim's assailant inside the residence; he was identified as Philip S. Maletta, 51, police said; Maletta was arrested and charged with one count of second degree assault, a felony, police said.
He was transported to police headquarters and held for morning arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court, police said.

The victim was transported by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Peconic Bay Medical Center's emergency department for treatment, police said.
Both the victim and his assailant reside at the residence, which is maintained as a sober house, police said.
