Man Steals Purse From Car Outside BJ's, Goes Shopping: Cops
He used a stolen credit card at stores around town, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A man stole a pocketbook from outside BJ's in Riverhead and used a credit card to go shopping around town, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, the incident took place on Wednesday at 8:35 p.m.; officers responded to a report of a larceny from a vehicle outside B.J.'s Wholesale Club on Old Country Road.
A female customer said her pocketbook was removed from her vehicle while she was shopping inside, police said. Shortly after the report was made, the woman contacted police regarding unauthorized purchases on one of her credit cards, which had been inside the pocketbook, police said.

The card had been used at several locations in the Riverhead area, including Target on Old Country Road, police said.
An investigation into the purchases revealed a man previously known to police — 31-year old Tarell Holloway of Riverhead, who was located at his residence and placed into custody for the incident, police said.

Holloway was transported to the Riverhead Police Department and charged with one count of fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property, and one count of third degree identity theft; he was held for morning arraignment, police said.
