Man Stole Car from Outside 7-Eleven, Caught with Stun Gun: Riverhead Police
The car, which had been left running, was stolen from outside 7-Eleven in Riverhead, police said.

RIVERHEAD, NY-A Riverhead man was arrested Monday after he allegedly stole a car from outside 7-Eleven, police said.
According to Riverhead Police, a call came in at 8:37 p.m. regarding a stolen vehicle from the 7-Eleven located at 162 Old Country Road.
Upon arrival, police interviewed the owner of the car, who said he had left the vehicle running and unattended while he went inside the store, police said.

When he went back outside, he found his vehicle missing from the parking lot, police said.
A witness in the area provided a description of the thief; the description, as well as a description of the vehicle, was broadcast to area units, police said.

A K--9 unit was able to locate the vehicle a short distance away on Melene Avenue and the occupant, John A. Cruz-Grijalva, 20, was placed under arrest, police said.
During search, Cruz-Grijalva was found to be in possession of marijuana and a stun gun, police said.
Grijalva was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree, a felony, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, police said.
He was transported to the Riverhead Police Department where he was processed and held for arraignment, police said.
