Man Stole 'Numerous' Power Tools From Lowe's: Police

He stole the tools over a period of time from September through February, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A Queens man was nabbed after he stole "numerous" power tools from Lowe's in Riverhead over a period of months, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, Peter Schnauder, 52, of Middle Village, Queens, was arrested and charged with three counts of fourth degree grand larceny, a felony, and petty larceny, a misdemeanor, after an investigation. Schnauder was also charged with fourth degree grand larceny on March 11 by the Suffolk County Police Department, police said.

Lowe's Home Improvement, located on Old Country Road in Riverhead, reported numerous larcenies by a man from September through February, police said.

An investigation was conducted by the Riverhead Police Department's detective division; detectives determined that Schnauder removed the merchandise without paying, police said.

Schnauder was processed and arraigned in the Riverhead Justice Court and was remanded to the Suffolk County Correctional Facility, police said.
