Man Threatens To Set Fire To His Westhampton Home: Police
After a 90-minute standoff he was taken into custody and to a local hospital, police say.
WESTHAMPTON, NY —A man threatened to set fire to his Westhampton home Sunday, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, the incident took place at 5:51 a.m. Southampton Town Police patrol units responded, along with the Westhampton Beach Police Department and a Suffolk County Police Department K-9 unit, authorities said.
The Southampton Town emergency services unit was also requested, as were negotiators and detectives, as well as the Westhampton Beach Fire Department and Westhampton War Memorial Ambulance.

The man was taken into custody about one- and -a-half hours later and taken to a local hospital, police said.
