Man Tried To Steal Shopping Cart Full Of Electronics: Police

RIVERHEAD, NY — The public's help is needed to find a man who tried to steal a shopping car full of electronic merchandise from Walmart, police said.

According to Riverhead Police, the incident took place on Dec. 23 at 4:14 p.m. at the Walmart on Old Country Road in Riverhead.

The unidentified white man, of medium build, who was wearing glasses, and had facial hair, is possibly in his early to mid-30s, entered the Walmart and attempted to remove the shopping cart without paying, police said.

When confronted by store employees, he ran into the parking lot and left the area in a white colored 2001 Ford F150 pickup truck, police said.
