Man Used Cars Without Authorization, Stole Credit Cards: Police

The man was arrested Thursday and charged in relation to a series of thefts that took place in Greenport in December, police say.

GREENPORT, NY — A Dix Hills man was arrested in relation to reports of stolen cars and credit cards in Greenport, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, Lonnie Elliselder, 31, was arrested on Thursday and charged with three c0unts 0f fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, credit cards; and two counts of unauthorized use of a vehicle without owner consent.

Elliselder was arrested in Huntington by Southold Town Police detectives in relation to an ongoing larceny investigation stemming back to December, when two cars were taken from the Village of Greenport, and credit cards were stolen from several other cars, police said.

The stolen credit cards were then used in several locations throughout Southold and Riverhead, police said.

He was processed at the Southold Town Police Department and was released on an appearance ticket with a court date later this month, police said.
