Man Wanted for Stealing Cartons of Cigarette from Wading River Smoke Shop: Police

WADING RIVER, NY — The search is on for a man who stole cigarettes from a Wading River shop, police said.

According to Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Riverhead Police Department, the public's help is needed to locate a man wanted for petty larceny after stealing cigarettes from the Wading River Smoke Shop, located at 6278 Route 25A.

The incident took place on September 6, when the man stole multiple cartons of cigarettes at approximately 9:50 a.m., police said.

The alleged thief is described as a white male, bald, with a goatee, approximately 6', 235 lbs., wearing a black shirt and blue jeans, police said. He fled the store and was last seen heading west, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
