Masked Gunman Holds Up Riverhead Deli: Police
BREAKING: The man fled on foot, police said.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A masked gunman held up a Riverhead deli Friday night, police said.
According to Riverhead Police, the call came in at 9:20 p.m. about an attempted robbery at the Riverhead Supermarket & Deli on West Main Street.
An unknown male wearing a rubber mask, green and white shirt and jeans entered the deli; once at the check-out counter the man displayed a black handgun and demanded money from the register, police said.

No cash was received and the man left the market on foot, police said.
Riverhead Police patrol units responded after being contacted by an employee of the business, police said.

Riverhead Detectives responded and conducted an investigation at the scene; anyone with information about the crime is asked call the Riverhead Police Department at 631 727-4500. All calls will remain confidential.
