Mattituck Man Injured In Calverton Shooting: Cops

The shooting was not random, police say. Parents said they received a call Monday morning about extra security in the Riverhead district.

CALVERTON, NY— A Mattituck man was injured in a Calverton shooting Sunday, police said.

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives said they are investigating the incident, during which a 23-year-old Mattituck man was shot while in a parking lot at Calverton Hills at 3:45 p.m.

The man was transported by private vehicle to Peconic Bay Medical Center where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries, police said.
