Mom Drove Drunk With 2 Young Sons In Car: Police

CALVERTON, NY — A mother was arrested Monday in Calverton after she was caught driving while intoxicated with her two sons, 6 and 9, in the car, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, the incident took place at 6:37 p.m. on Edwards Avenue in Calverton. Police said they received a report regarding someone in a tan Chevrolet driving in an "erratic manner" on Edwards Avenue.

Lori A. Saraf — police were not able to immediately provide her age or where she was from — was found to be intoxicated with her kids in the vehicle, authorities said. She was arrested and charged with DWI in violation of Leandra's Law, a felony, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
