Mom's Plea Answered, Missing Adult Son Found Safe On Long Island: PD

Police say he was found in good health Tuesday afternoon.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A Brentwood mother's prayers were answered as her missing son was found safe, police said.

According to Riverhead Town police, Anna Capella, of Brentwood, reported her son, Jose Obdulio Garcia, 28, missing on Monday at about 4:30 p.m. He was found in good health Tuesday at about 2:45 p.m., police said.

Capella had reported her last contact with her son was via cell phone on February 21 at about 7:30 p.m., when Garcia asked for her credit card information to pay for his dinner at Cliff's Rendezvous on East Main Street in Riverhead, police said.

Garcia had been diagnosed as bipolar, with Asperger syndrome and schizophrenia, police said.
