More Snow Expected On LI Friday Night Into Saturday Morning: NWS

Long Island is expected to see another 1 to 2 inches Friday night into Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Long Island is expected to see a new round of snowfall this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Jim Connolly, meteorologist with the National Weather Service Office at Upton, said the forecast is for 1 to 2 inches across Long Island, beginning after midnight and tapering off late Saturday morning into early afternoon.

Temperatures are expected to hover in the low to mid-20s Friday night, with Saturday's high temperatures in the mid-to-upper 30s, he said.

Winds are predicted to be light Friday night, increasing to 10 to 15 miles per hour when the snow ends Saturday afternoon.

Sunday will be mostly sunny and dry, with highs in the upper 30s or 40 degrees, he said.
