Motorcyclist Dies In LI Crash: Police
The crash took place in Manorville Saturday morning; another motorcyclist was also injured, police say.
MANORVILLE, NY — A motorcyclist was killed in a Manorville crash Saturday morning, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place on Clancy Road near Hampton Vista Drive at about 10:28 a.m.
Henry L. Zdenek, Jr., 59, of Selden was riding a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on Clancy Road, near Hampton Vista Drive, when he crossed into the northbound lanes in an attempt to pass other motorcycles, police said. Zdenek swerved back into the southbound lane to avoid oncoming traffic and struck a 2004 Harley-Davidson being ridden by a 62-year-old woman from Central Islip, police said.

Zdenek was transported via ambulance to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The woman was taken to the same hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.
