Motorcyclist Killed In Ridge Crash: Police
The crash took place just after 11:30 a.m. Saturday, police say.
RIDGE, NY — A motorcyclist was killed in a Ridge crash Saturday, police said.
According to Suffolk County Police, Seventh Squad detectives are investigating the crash, which took place at 11:35 a.m. on Middle Country Road at Pine Bark Road.
Frankie Evans, 22, of Medford, was on the eastbound side of Middle County Road at Pine Bark Road in a 2018 Hyundai Sonata when she attempted to make a U-turn and her vehicle struck a 1995 Harley Davidson, operated by John Laflair, 68, of Middle Island, which was traveling eastbound on Middle Country Road, police said.

Laflair was transported by Ridge Ambulance to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Evans was not injured, but her passenger, Daquan Clarke, 22, of Bellport, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The vehicle and motorcycle were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
