Movie Filmed In Riverhead A Hit At Cannes
Riverhead is depicted on the big screen in a movie debuting at the Cannes Film Festival in France.

Riverhead has been forever immortalized in a new film debuting to rave reviews at the Cannes Film Festival.
According to a New York Times article, at a premiere of the new Joel and Ethan Coen film, "Inside Llewyn Davis," critics were laughing, clapping and thoroughly enjoying the movie, which features scenes filmed in Riverhead in March, 2012.
According to the article, the movie is set to open in the United States by December.
The film, which focuses on the New York folk music scene in the 1960s, features a cast including Justin Timberlake, John Goodman, Carrie Mulligan, Garrett Hedlund, and Oscar Isaac as Llewyn Davis.
The production company filmed at Riverhead's water district property at the corner of Northville Turnpike and Route 105. A private barn was also used on Northville Turnpike.
Gary Pendzick, Riverhead's water district superintendent, said at the time that the production crew designed the barn located on the property as a 1960s-style gas station. He added that part of the film had characters taking a road trip from New York to Chicago, and the open space around the area was desirable.
