North Fork Bacon & Smokehouse Closes Doors

WADING RIVER, NY— A popular North Fork barbecue spot has shuttered.

Owner and pitmaster Patrick Gaeta broke the news on Facebook recently.

"Well, everyone I hate to say it, but the North Fork Bacon & Smokehouse days have come to an end," he wrote.

The lease had ended and Gaeta said he was unable to renegotiate a new one for the business, located at 1 Sound Road in Wading River.

"I want to personally thank each and every customer from over the years," Gaeta said. "We had a great run. I'm going to be concentrating on what brought me to the bacon world, and what our main focus was all along. Barbecue. Unfortunately there won’t be a storefront, but please follow along to see where I’ll be adding smoked goods. If you own or have a place in your area whose menu needs a twist, send them my way."
