Numerous Gunshots Fired At Riverhead Business: Police
2 men were struck during the dispute, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — Gunshots were fired at a Riverhead business early Saturday, police said.
According to Riverhead Police, at 1:20 a..m., reports came in regarding a disturbance that led to gunshots at the Mambo Grill & Lounge on East Main Street.
Numerous shots were fired both outside and at the rear of the establishment, and two males were struck, police said. Both went on their own to the Peconic Bay Medical Center emergency room for treatment, police said.

Police secured the scene and detectives also responded to both the hospital and the eatery, authorities said. A Riverhead Police Department K-9 unit also assisted in the investigation, police said.
A verbal dispute among a few patrons occurred inside the business then escalated as they left through the rear door and headed onto an exterior rear deck and walkway, where the argument escalated further — and led to the shots being fired by one person, police said.
