Pedestrian Struck By Long Island Rail Road Train In Riverhead: MTA
BREAKING: The man survived and was airlifted to the hospital, a Long Island Rail Road spokesperson said.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A pedestrian was struck by a Long Island Rail Road train in Riverhead Saturday, according to an MTA LIRR spokesman Salvatore Arena.
The male "trespasser" was struck by a westbound train approximately a quarter mile west of the Riverhead LIRR station at approximately 2 p.m., Arena said.
The man survived and was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, Arena said.

Approximately 30 people were onboard the train but although a bus was initially ordered, Arena said he believed the passengers were able to stay on the train, which was headed to the Ronkonkoma station.
