Police: Drunk Riverhead Teen Skids Car Off Road in Hampton Bays

An 18-year-old from Riverhead was arrested on a DWI charge after he lost control of his car, causing it to skid off of the road and onto the lawn of a Hampton Bays business early Thanksgiving morning, Southampton Town Police said.

The incident occurred shortly before 5 a.m. Thursday.

Police say the vehicle of Carlos H. Regalado came to rest on the lawn of “We’ll Floor “U,” which is located at 201 W. Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays.

Regalado, who was not injured, was arrested and charged with DWI, unlicensed operator and other traffic infractions, police said.
