Police: Elmhurst Man Arrested For Shoplifting Over $2,000 Worth of Items From Tanger Outlets Store

The arrest was made on March 9.

An Elmhurst man was arrested after shoplifting over $2,000 worth of items from the Saks Fifth Avenue store at the Tanger Outlets Center in Riverhead on March 9, according to Riverhead Town Police.

The Asset Protection Department from Saks Fifth Avenue, caught Jordano Villada, 24, who had stolen 17 pairs of assorted sunglasses, three Michael Kors knit hats and a pair of men’s Versace shoes from the store, police said.

The total value of the stolen items was $2,079.82.

Villada was searched after the arrest and found to be in possession of bolt cutters and three packages containing heroin.

He was transported to the Riverhead Police Department for arrest processing and held for morning arraignment.

Villada was charged with fourth degree grand larceny, possession of burglar’s tools and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to police.
