Police: Flanders Man Caught with Fake 'Green Card'

A Flanders man was arrested on Friday and charged with a felony after Southampton Police said they discovered that he was using a forged United States Permanent Resident Card.

Eduardo Cruz, 23, was stopped by police on Peconic Avenue in Riverside at about 10:23 a.m. after police saw him driving without a seatbelt, according to an arrest report. Police said they found Cruz was in possession of a forged resident card. Cruz was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony, and driving without seatbelt, a violation, police said.

He was transported to the and held for arraignment, according to a police report.
