Police ID Woman Found Dead In Vehicle Submerged Off LI Beach
The vehicle was found submerged in the Long Island Sound, police say.

JAMESPORT, NY — Police have identified a woman found dead in her vehicle, which was submerged in the Long Island Sound off Iron Pier Beach in Jamesport in June.
The woman has been identified as Kathleen Minogue, 56, of Port Jefferson Station, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, a call came in at 8:24 a.m. on June 29 about the vehicle in the water at the Iron Pier Beach boat ramps. A police officer swam to the submerged vehicle and found Minogue deceased, police said.

A crime scene was established, and the Riverhead Police Department's detective division and dive team commenced an investigation of the circumstances leading up to her death, police said.
The woman's death appeared to be non-criminal in nature, police said.
