Police: Landlord Forces Way Into Apartment, Strikes Tenant With Piece of Metal

The incident occurred on Saturday morning.

A Riverhead landlord was arrested after allegedly forcing his way into an apartment and striking one of the two tenants with a piece of metal on Saturday morning, according to Riverhead Town Police.

Riverhead Police responded to 219 Middle Road in reference to a burglary investigation at about 12:20 a.m., police said.

The complainants, Quan Chen and Chen Sun, reported that their landlord Able Tsang, 56, forced open their locked door to their apartment and struck Chen Sun in both arms with approximately a 30 inch long piece of metal causing minor scratches, police said.

No other injuries were reported and Chen Sun declined medical attention, police said.

Tsang was placed under arrest at the scene and was charged with first degree burglary, according to police..
