Police: Man Arrested After Attempting to Set Fire to Neighbor's Home
The man threw a Molotov cocktail at the house and fled the area, police said.

A Riverhead man was arrested for arson after throwing a Molotov cocktail at his neighbor’s house on Sunday night, according to Riverhead Town Police.
A man reported that while inside his house on 24 Sigal Avenue with several family members, an unknown man ignited a glass bottle containing a flammable liquid and threw it into the north side of his house, police said.
The man then fled the area, according to police.

The bottle did not break and no damage occurred to the house and the fire was extinguished upon police arrival, according to police.
The Suffolk County Police Arson Squad was notified and responded.

Upon further investigation, Monwell Wright, 21, of 23 Sigal Avenue, was found in the area and arrested for second degree attempted arson, according to police.
He was transported to police headquarters.
