Police: Man Arrested After Resisting Arrest on Parole Warrant
The arrest was made on Tuesday night.

A Riverhead man was arrested after resisting an arrest on a parole warrant along with several drug charges on Tuesday night in Riverhead, according to Riverhead Town Police.
Jerry H. Nelson, 48, was seen walking on Oakland Drive North and when officers attempted to arrest him, he attempted to run away, police said.
After he was apprehended and arrested, he was found to be in possession of crack cocaine, heroin and marijuana, police said.

Riverhead Town Police C.O.P.E. Unit and K-9 Unit assisted the New York State Division of Parole in executing an authorized arrest warrant of Nelson.
Nelson held on third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of marijuana and NYS Division of Parole Arrest Warrant, police said.
