Police: Missing Persons Investigation Leads to Two Arrests
Two Calverton men arrested for gun charges and outstanding bench warrants, police say.

Two people were arrested in Calverton after police were called to investigate a missing persons report on Saturday night, according to Southampton Town Police.
Detectives investigated a report of an endangered female from Riverside who texted a friend that she was being held in a car against her will, according to police.
The friend then reported this to police who were able to find the car a short time later at 11:40 p.m. in Calverton near County Road 94 and the Long Island Expressway, according to police.

The woman was found unharmed but the two men inside the car were arrested on scene, police said.
Fredrick Pittman, 47, of Calverton, is charged with second degree criminal possession of a weapon and second degree possession of a loaded handgun. Trahmel Thompson, 24, of Calverton, was arrested on outstanding bench warrants from First District Court, police said.
