Police: Officials Seeking Woman Who Used a Fake Credit Card at Best Buy

The woman purchased a laptop at Best Buy and fled the store before anyone noticed the card was invalid, officials said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Town of Riverhead Police Department detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the woman who used a fake credit card at a Riverhead store last month.

A woman used a forged credit card to buy a laptop at the Best Buy on 1440 Old Country Road, on October 24 at 7:10 p.m., according to Suffolk County Crime Stoppers.

The woman fled the store before it was determined that the credit card was invalid, officials said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
