Police: One Pedestrian Killed, Another Critically Injured in Riverside
The incident occurred Sunday night, police said.

One pedestrian was killed and another was critically injured in an accident in Riverside on Sunday night, according to Southampton Town Police.
Police responded to the crash on State Route 24, just north of Vail Avenue, at 7:53 p.m.

Police said a driver traveling south on State Route 24 hit the two pedestrians as they were crossing the roadway.
One pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and the second pedestrian was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he is in critical condition, police said.

The driver was not hurt and police said no criminality is suspected in the crash at this time.
New York State Police assisted in the investigation on scene and the roadway was closed for about three hours.
