Police: Ridge Man Hospitalized After Crashing Into Trailer in Riverhead
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon.

An 86-year-old Ridge man was hospitalized after a car accident where he crashed into a trailer in Riverhead on Friday afternoon, according to Riverhead Town Police.
The Riverhead Police Department responded to the accident on Sound Avenue shortly before 2 p.m.
They found that Joseph N. Lamicela was driving his 2010 Infiniti G37 eastbound on Sound Avenue when he crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic and hit a trailer that was being towed by a 2001 Ford F150, driven by Brian D. King, 44, of Orient, police said.

After colliding with the trailer the Infiniti left the roadway and crashed into a rock and several trees on the north side of the road before stopping, police said.
Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance responded to the scene and treated Lamicela before taking him to Stony Brook University Hospital for his injuries that were later determined to be non-life threatening, police said.
