Police: Riverhead Man Arrested For Driving Drunk in Mattituck
The man was pulled over for speeding and driving with a loud modified exhaust, police said.
A Riverhead man was arrested on a DWI charge in Mattituck on Friday night, according to Southold Town Police.
Brian Prunty, 39, was seen speeding and driving with a loud modified exhaust westbound on Route 48 by Shirley Road, police said.
Police noticed he had an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and was found to be intoxicated after administering Standardized Field Sobriety tests, police said.

Prunty was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters to be processed.
He was held overnight to await arraignment.
