Police: Riverhead Man Arrested on Second DWI Charge

The arrest was made on Saturday morning.

A Riverhead man was charged with his second DWI in Flanders on Saturday morning, according to Southampton Town Police.

Police saw David G Morales, 28, was seen driving Northbound on Flanders Road, he was stopped for unsafe start and failing to maintain his lane of travel on Flanders Road at about 12:15 a.m., police said.

Upon investigation, police learned that Morales was intoxicated, according to police.

Morales was previously arrested in Southampton Village in 2013 and charged with third degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and aggravated DWI, after he was caught driving drunk with a fake Social Security card.

He was transported to the Southampton Town Police Headquarters for processing, and held for morning arraignment.

He was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, unsafe start, move from lane unsafely, first degree aggravated unlicensed operation and circumventing interlock device, according to police.
