Police: Riverhead Man Arrested For Stealing $25
The man stole the money from the victim in Riverhead on Monday night.

A Riverhead man was arrested for stealing $25 from an unidentified victim in Riverhead on Monday night, according to Riverhead Town Police.
Police responded to Railroad Avenue on a report of a larceny at 8:22 p.m.
The victim reported that an unknown man asked him for $2 and when he pulled out his money, the man grabbed all the cash he had in his hand, totaling $25, police said.

The victim got into an argument with the man to give his money back, but the man refused and ran away, according to police.
The victim called the police who responded and found the man with the assistance of the Riverhead K9 Unit who tracked him from the scene to Hallett Avenue.

The victim identified the man, Rodney J. Brooks, 28, as the guy who stole his money.
Brooks was detained and placed under arrest for fourth degree grand larceny, according to police.
He was processed and held for morning arraignment.
