Police: Riverhead Man Critically Hurt in Blown Red Light Crash
Accident occurred Sunday morning in Riverhead.

A 21-year-old Riverhead man is in critical, but stable condition following a crash in Riverhead Sunday morning that police believe was caused when the driver of the other vehicle ran a red light.
According to Riverhead Town Police, Duglas A. Velasquez-Camey was driving a 1995 Honda south on County Road 105 when his vehicle collided with a 2006 Toyota minivan that had been heading east on Route 25 at about 7:16 a.m.
Velasquez-Camey was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital by Riverhead Ambulance due to the serious nature of his injuries, police said.

The driver of the Toyota, 58-year-old Thomas Corrao, and his 23-year-old passenger, also named Thomas Corrao, both of Patchogue, suffered minor injuries and were treated and released from Peconic Bay Medical Center, police said.
Based on physical evidence at the scene and speaking with witnesses, police said the Toyota appears to have entered the intersection against a red light.
