Police: Riverhead Teen Breaks Into Local Business, Steals Six Cellphones

The teen was caught on camera in theft Sunday morning, police say.

A Riverhead teen was arrested after he was caught on camera breaking into a local business and stealing six cellphones on Sunday morning, according to Riverhead Town Police.

Police responded to a burglary at Mi Casa Multiservice on 703 East Main Street at about 8:05 a.m.

Gloria Monterroza, the owner of the business, reported that the business was broken into during the overnight hours, according to police.

The burglar was observed on surveillance video breaking the glass on the front door, entering the business and stealing the cellphones, police said.

A subsequent investigation lead to the arrest of Malik Rose, 18, on a charge of third degree burglary, according to police.

Rose was processed at the Riverhead Police Department and held pending arraignment.
