Update: Two Masked Gunman Rob Deli On East Main Street in Riverhead: Police

RIVERHEAD, NY - Update: The Riverhead Police Department responded to M & G Deli on East Main Street Saturday night after an armed robbery.

Upon police arrival it was determined that two unknown males wearing masks entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the cashier.

The men received an undetermined amount of cash and fled the store. Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the robbery should contact the Riverhead Police Department at 631-727-4500. All calls will remain confidential.

Original story: New York State Police assisted Riverhead Town Police with an armed robbery that took place on East Main Street on Saturday at 9:18 p.m., police said.

Although Riverhead Police could not confirm the location of the incident, a duty officer said there were multiple officers at various locations on East Main Street Saturday night.

A witness said she saw a number of state police cars headed in both directions to the scene.
