Police Seeking Jamesport Gas Station Burglar

Police are seeking a man who broke into and stole items from a Jamesport gas station early Saturday morning, according to Riverhead Town Police.

Police responded to a report of criminal mischief to a glass door at the American Gas Station located on 1427 Main Road at 3:21 a.m., police said.

Upon arrival, police found a north side glass front door had been broken into, police said.

Further investigation found that an unknown man wearing a dark colored hoodie broke into the gas station at 2:11 a.m. and removed coins, cartons of cigarettes and lotto tickets from the store, police said.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have witnessed the burglary is asked to contact the Riverhead Town Police Detective Division at 727-4500 ext. 328.
