Police: Trio Arrested After Trying to Buy Car With Fake IDs

The men tried to buy a $60K pickup truck from the Riverhead Ford.

Three men were arrested for buy a pickup truck using fake IDs in Riverhead earlier this month, according to Riverhead Town Police.

Police responded to the Riverhead Ford on 1419 Old Country Road on a report of two men trying to buy a $60,500 2014 Ford F-150 Raptor pickup truck using fake identification on Friday, Oct. 2 at 3:08 p.m., according to police.

When police arrived, the two men attempted to run away but were apprehended in a parking lot nearby, police said.

An investigation was initiated leading to the arrest of the two men and a third waiting in a nearby car, according to police.

Michael M. Grayson, 51, of Bronx, Shaun F. Shuffler, 30, of Queens and Tameek White, 21, of Mount Vernon, where all charged with second degree attempted grand larceny, according to police.

Grayson was also charged with three counts of first degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and first degree identity theft, police said.

Shuffler was also found to have an outstanding warrant with the State of New Jersey for third degree forgery, according to police.

All three men were arrested and transported to the Riverhead Police Department for processing.

They were processed and held for morning arraignment.
