Police: Woman Arrested After Assault in Riverhead Parking Lot
The woman was allegedly fighting with another woman over a "mutual male partner" according to police.

A Riverhead woman was arrested after assaulting another woman when they were fighting over a man in a parking lot in Riverhead early Saturday morning, according to Riverhead Town Police.
Police Department received a 911 call shortly before 2:30 a.m. from a woman who was responding to Peconic Bay Medical Center in a private car for treatment of injuries sustained during the assault, according to police.
The woman, Ebony Thomas, 26, reported she was sliced about the body numerous times by another woman she knew, Vanessa E. Jones, 27, of Riverhead, according to police.

The assault allegedly took place in a parking lot on Railroad Avenue in Riverhead, police said.
The assault was a result of an ongoing dispute between the two over a “mutual male partner”, police said.

Thomas was treated and released from the hospital.
Jones was arrested for second degree assault after surrendering to Riverhead Police Detectives, police said.
She was processed at Police Headquarters and held for arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court.
