Police: Woman Arrested For Interfering During Friend's Arrest
The two women were arrested after they were seen arguing in a running car in Riverside, police say.

One woman was arrested on a DWI charge and another woman was arrested for interfering while police were arrested her friend in Riverside on Thursday morning, according to Southampton Town Police.
Ashley C. Thomas, 26, of Riverhead and Amelia A. Torres, 23, of Riverhead were seen arguing in a running car on Lake Avenue at about 2:46 a.m., police said.
Torres was the driver and police found she was drunk, according to police.

She was arrested for DWI and held overnight for morning arraignment, police said.
Thomas ignored multiple requests to leave the scene of her friend’s arrest and repeatedly interfered with the investigation and arrest of Torres, police said.

She also threw a water bottle across the parking lot, according to police.
Thomas was arrested for second degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, and littering, police said.
She was held overnight for morning arraignment.
