'Raise A Pint For Paws' Event Helps Homeless Pets In Need
Twin Forks Beer Co. and the North Fork Country Kids Animal Rescue teamed up for the "brewery/cat beer crawl," which kicks off Saturday.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A local animal rescue is teaming up with local breweries for a "brew/cat crawl" to benefit four-footed friends in need.
According to Virginia Scudder, executive director of the North Fork Country Kids Animal Rescue and Rescue Vixens, the "Raise a Pint for Paws" debuts Saturday at Twin Fork Beer Co., located at 807 Raynor Ave. in Riverhead, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Santa photos and cat adoptions will also be included in the festivities; the "Rescue Vixens" will also be onhand to greet patrons and sign retro calendars.
On December 19, the event will unfold at the Moriches Field Brewing Co., located at 1 Wilcox Ave. in Center Moriches, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., with pet adoptions and Santa photos, too. The help of a community who joins hands and hearts to save homeless pets is needed now more than ever, Scudder said.
"The pandemic took a hit on small rescues like ourselves and we rely heavily on our Long Island follower and businesses to lend us a hand in finding ways to fundraise for the thousands of dollars we use to vet and provide medical care for our animals," Scudder said.
