Rideshare Driver Robbed At Gunpoint, Vehicle Stolen: Police
Three people assaulted and forcefully removed the driver from the vehicle.
RIVERHEAD, NY — A rideshare driver was robbed at gunpoint and had his vehicle forcibly stolen early Wednesday, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, at 2:04 a.m., a 911 call came in about a suspicious person near East Woodland Drive in Wading River. Patrol officers responded and determined that the person was a rideshare driver who'd experienced an armed robbery, police said.
Three people assaulted and forcefully removed the driver from the vehicle; two displayed handguns during the robbery, police said.

The first robber was wearing red pants and a red sweatshirt; the second was dressed in all black; and the third was wearing blue jeans and a black sweatshirt, police said.
