Riverhead AARP Volunteers to Host Food Drive During Month of April

Food will be collected at several locations within the Town of Riverhead.

The Riverhead AARP Volunteer Team announced they will be hosting a food drive during the month of April, in Riverhead to help local families in need.

Throughout the community, local organizations, businesses, government agencies, the hospital and the library are participating and serving as donation drop-off sites.

“We encourage people to get involved with our food drive by donating food and useful household items so that we can help as many families as possible, ” Jo Packard, an AARP volunteer from Riverhead said. “Our food drive is a part of AARP on Long Island’s efforts to fight hunger among Long Islanders and help those who are struggling to make ends meet.”
