Riverhead Auto Parts Shop Burglarized: Cops

Someone broke the glass and stole money from the register, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A Riverhead auto parts store was burglarized early Wednesday, police said.

According to the Riverhead Police Department, at 1:27 a.m., authorities were notified of an alarm activation at NAPA Auto Parts, located at 1556 West Main St.

Responding officers found a glass break and determined that someone had gained entry into the business and removed an undetermined amount of cash from the store register, police said.

A New York State Police K9 unit responded to the scene and conducted a K9 track, police said. The Riverhead Police Department's detective division responded and will be conducting an investigation into the commercial burglary, police said.
